The
use of words is undoubtedly a very common practice
since it is absolutely essential for having conversations
and communications, and as such cant be at all done
away with. But, the use of appropriate words is an
invaluable art as it enhances the worth of
expressions, establishes relationships, and leads us to
satisfying fulfillment.
There
are many words which have similar or even closely
similar meanings; but depending on the actual import the
most suitable one among the available few are selectively
chosen. For choosing the very right word, a large stock of
words is definitely required while a larger collection
of words are often very desired. A thoughtfully compiled
dictionary is meant for serving the purpose with ease,
convenience, and perfection.
Our e-Dictionary
serves this purpose perfectly.
In
every major language, there are a number of words with
closely similar meanings. As it is entirely possible that
a person may not have equal command over more than one
language, and have a large stock of words stored in his/
her memory, such a bilingual Dictionary is very useful
which can also provide the words of closely similar
meanings in the same language so that the user can
first decide which particular sense the word imparts suits
him/ her best; since it enables him/ her to choose the
most appropriate word in the desired language very
efficiently.
Our
e-Dictionary serves this purpose perfectly. Not only it
provides equivalent Hindi words against those in English
and vice-versa, it also provides the equivalent English
words from those in English as well. And, the computerized
utilization adds to the ease, convenience and economic
utilization of time. Two scroll along lists run side by
side in parallel; a highlighted word on the left-hand side
scroll will always show the equivalent word on the
right-hand scroll in the same or alternate language as
had been selected. And, a large amount of data remains at
the fingertips for having a rapid overview.
While
too little of stock of words (as given in pocket-size
edition dictionary) is of little or no particular
usefulness, too much of stock of words (as given in
epic-size voluminous editions) is also of limited
usefulness as they take up too long time even for
finding fairly commonly used words. In our normal
conversations and communications as well, we seldom use
overly ornate words as we all know that the
tongue twisters are not always delightful; rather,
those could induce vexation which is definitely not at
all desired.
We
have included about 25,000 Hindi-to-English words, and the
same number of English-to-Hindi words has been given side
by side. Besides, we have also incorporated 20,000
English-to-English words for enhancing the ease of
comprehension. The stock of words has been carefully
chosen from a wide range of various fields and subjects
for the purpose of ensuring that it does not fall
short to provide our general and desirable requirements.
The
paired equivalent words in both the languages (English to
Hindi, and Hindi-to-English) have also been categorized
under the following major sub-heads - so that they can be
pursued promptly:
